Cedar Creek Lake is owned and was built by the Tarrant County Water Control District (TCWCD) in 1965. It was built to provide a water source for the communities serviced by the TCWCD. The lake is in Henderson and Kaufman counties and is bound by US Hwy 175 on the north, SH 274 on the west, SH 31 on the south and SH 198 on the east. It consists of: 320 miles of shoreline, 36,000 surface acres, waterfront property ownership above the 325' above mean sea level elevation, constant level pooling at the 322' above mean sea level elevation, one public park (Chamber Isle), two public boat ramps, many marinas w/boat launches and swim areas, RV parks and camp grounds, local and regional chain restaurants, antiques, boat dealers, and Walmart.
