Richland Chambers Lake is owned and was built by Tarrant County Water Control District (TCWCD) in 1983. It is a water source for the communities serviced by the TCWCD. The lake is in Navarro and Freestone Counties, southeast of Corsicana. It is bound by IH –45 on the west, US Hwy 287 on the north, FM 309 on the East, and FM 416 on the south. The constant pool elevation is 315 feet above mean sea level. Property ownership is above 317 feet above mean sea level. It covers 41,356 surface acres and about 330 miles of shoreline.
